Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-118 is to be contained in a 17ft tall, 7ft wide tube comprised of transparent alumina. Weekly checks for wear and tear are mandatory by Class D personnel. The tube itself is to be enclosed in a large, circular room made of steel with a thickness of 9 inches. No organic material of any kind can enter SCP-118’s cell except for on designated feeding days. There is to be constant supervision of SCP-118, either by video surveillance or personnel who will be positioned in the viewing area above floor level. Under no circumstance is SCP-118 to be removed from its containment cell unless given permission by a Senior Staff member.
SCP-118 appears to be a Caucasuian male between the age of 25 and 30, measuring approximately 1.78 meters in height. Subject is solid mass and heavier than it appears; its weight fluctuates frequently depending on energy used and the amount of organic material available. SCP-118 can shapeshift, but prefers the appearance of a deceased man by the name of Alex Mercer. SCP-118 will only respond to this name. This form has dark curly brown hair, sickly-pale skin, and blue eyes. Subject “wears” several layers of clothing; a leather jacket, a grey zip-up hoodie, a white button up dress shirt, and denim jeans. Said clothing appears to be part of its body mass and is not actual cloth.
SCP-118’s shapeshifting abilities make it highly dangerous. Subject will “consume” victims, allowing it to mimic its prey on a cellular level, including but not limited to: face, voice, and mannerisms. After consuming, SCP-118 will gain the memories of its victims. SCP-118 is vulnerable in this state, as the memories seem to cause it harm for a short period of time.
Several reports were turned over to the foundation by [DATA EXPUNGED] upon SCP-118’s arrival of its various abilities. Subject’s body itself is a highly dangerous bio-weapon created by Dr. ███ at [DATA EXPUNGED] during Project BLACKLIGHT. SCP-118 can shift its arms into a multitude of weapons suited for close-range combat. Subject can also cover its body in a protective armor consisting of hardened carbon that has also been noted to have trace amounts of iron. This armor is resistant to heat, punctures, and impact, but considerably increases SCP-118’s weight, hindering its speed and gliding abilities, but if allowed to build momentum can turn into a wrecking ball of devastating force. While in containment, subject hasn’t displayed any of these abilities and further tests will be needed to confirm them.
SCP-118 is sentient and shows signs of grief, depression, and anxiety while in containment. Subject experiences nightmares, insomnia, and fits of emotion that require sedation. Several instances have occurred where addressing SCP-118 as a subject causes it considerable emotional distress, thus contact with the subject has been forbidden to all personnel under LEVEL 5. Too little is known about the subject to try and improve its quality of life. After basic experiments to judge threat level and containment protocol, further testing must be done in order to determine effective calming procedures. It is not a priority task at this point in time.
((Would like to give a big shout-out to MadMercer for helping me write all of this! Without her help, I would’ve been sitting there for hours!))
